Sue Henderson Tepper, LCSW
I grew up in Somerset County with my parents and 4 sisters. My amazing parents taught us to be giving and caring, to help others when we can. Both of my parents and sisters were involved in service organizations.
I attended College in Pennsylvania earning a bachelors in Sociology and worked for years in the criminal justice system. It was there that I realized I wanted to do more to help others, so I went back to school and earned a master’s in social work at Rutgers University. I was trained and practiced family therapy in agency settings until I took some time off to focus on raising my two children.
In 2007 I formed Budd Therapy Group, LLC, opening a private practice so I could continue to help others while raising my children. After the last child went to college, I switched focus to agency work first at a Domestic Violence agency and then at Catholic Charities overseeing the clinical programs in Somerset County. Today I continue to focus on helping others through both agency and private practice.
My passion is to help others; I have been a licensed clinician for over 15 years, and I believe that everyone deserves to be happy and safe. My goal is to assist you with being your best; being comfortable with who you are and how you feel.

There is nothing more powerful than the way clients talk to themselves about themselves.

Trauma isn't just what happened to you. It's also what didn’t—what you needed but never received.

You may be struggling with anxiety, emotional numbness, or patterns in relationships that leave you feeling unseen or overwhelmed. Whether you’ve experienced overt trauma—such as physical, sexual, or emotional abuse—or subtle wounds like neglect, inconsistency, or emotional disconnection, the effects are real and lasting.

Many of the adults I work with carry trauma they didn’t initially recognize, because it came in the form of what was missing—not feeling safe, soothed, or fully accepted in childhood.

I offer a safe, supportive space to explore these experiences and their impact on your current life. Together, we’ll gently uncover the roots of your pain, build inner resilience, and help you reconnect with your authentic self.

I’m trained in EMDR, parts work, mindfulness, and attachment-based therapy. With a Master of Social Work from Fordham University, and earlier degrees in Economics and Finance, I bring both life experience and clinical insight to my work.

Healing is possible. You don’t have to keep carrying this alone.
Let’s begin the journey toward clarity, connection, and a more grounded relationship with yourself and others.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in empowerment, emphasizing that we hold the keys to our healing journey.
